Trent Peterson – Sattler, Packer und Abenteurer. 2017 startete er das Abenteuer den PCT entlang zu reiten. Er entwarf seinen eigenen Sattel um sowohl Packpferd, Reitpferd und Reiter auf dieser Tour optimal gerecht zu werden.
Wir freuen uns Trent bei Red Pony begrüßen zu dürfen und freuen uns über einen tollen Reise- und Tourbericht. Trent wird als US-Amerikaner den Vortrag auf Englisch halten. Wir haben für eine entsprechende Live-Synchronisation gesorgt (Apple/Android App), daher bitten wir Euch Kopfhörer für Euer Mobilegerät mitzubringen
Der Abend wird begleitet mit einem passenden Amerikanischen BBQ. (nicht im Preis enthalten.)

„IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
I needed a light weight saddle, and to get an idea of a saddle design out of my head….. And a belief that every moment is pregnant with the next moment in our life!
In 2017, Trent rode from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail with wild mustangs that he adopted from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) holding facility in Susanville, California. When the PCT was covered in snow or on fire, he diverted around the obstacles in order to leave continuous hoof prints along the West Coast. Trent gentled and trained the mustangs he used that began as untouched animals from the BLM, then traveled the length of the PCT to promote and raise awareness for Ataxia, Ataxia is a hereditary disease that took Trent’s fathers life from him. By choosing the mustang to complete this journey, it was an attempt to also raise awareness for the challenges wild horses face both in the wild and in holding facilities. Ultimately, the hope was to raise awareness and donations for both foundations to keep the wild in us alive…
In order to continue this mission, after the ride was completed, Trent opened a small leather shop in the spare bedroom of his house and began to build saddles between the summer packing seasons in the mountains, where 3% of all sales are donated to the Ataxia Foundation in, Gary Petersons name.
This small shop in the spare bedroom has grown into a full time business for, Trent. Instead of going into the mountains every spring as soon as the snow would let him, Trent now works in his saddle shop year-round. And the mountains are a sanctuary he now visits at the leisure of life at 3 mph, not the pay check. „
Trent Peterson – Sattler, Packer und Abenteurer. Er ist einer der bekanntesten und besten Packer in den USA. Egal ob Balken, Werkzeug, Nahrungsmittel oder sonstige Dinge in die Nationalparks der Rocky Mountains gebracht werden müssen. Trent übernimmt den Job und reitet teilweise mit 8 voll beladenen Mullis alleine die engen Pfade der Rockys entlang.
Am Abend zuvor hat er uns auf seinem PCT-Trail mitgenommen. Heute zeigt und erklärt er uns wie und mit welchen Mitteln wir ein Hand- bzw. Packpferd optimal rüsten.
Teilnehmer können Ihr eigenes Material gerne mitbringen, er zeigt individuell, wie man das Beste aus allen Dingen rausholt und nutzt.
Tageskurs mit Start: 9:30 Uhr

Der Individualkurs richtet sich an alle Reiter und Pferde jeden Ausbildungsstandes. Unabhängig von der Rasse des Pferdes wird jedes Reiter-Pferd-Paar ganz individuell betreut und gefördert.
Nach dem Besuch aus den USA geht es bei Red Pony im Mai weiter mit dem 1. Kurs von Sarah und Ernst-Peter Frey.
